life in a macaron in the hillside

I want to uproot and spend a month out there. The Korean countryside is so much different than the dinge of Pyeongtaek. The air feels refreshing, and the lake is a perfect cerulean. There’s a reason Jecheon is known as the healing city.

This time Apryl and I hopped in her car and made the trek into the center of the peninsula. Her car is old and shitty, and we leapfrogged rest stops all the way there and back. The transmission light would flicker on and off, but we made it.

The first three photos here were all taken at different rest stops along the way, the fourth was our little pod-house for the evening. Despite its unassuming stature, the inside was more than enough for the two of us. There was a kitchenette and table, bedroom and bathroom.

We spent most of our time driving around, hoping that every drive wasn’t the last time the engine would start. We took a nice walk around a small village on a lake island, and just spent the weekend relaxing in the country.
